Last weekend I was sitting in the train for 6 hours and forgot my book at home. That’s why I bought a women’s magazine at the train station. Paging though this Instyle I discovered something that I was really happy about. On page 98 (Mai 2010 Issue) there is one of our products: the Thales leather bracelet in silver by Thirtyfour!
Why am I so happy about it? Isn’t it normal that sometimes our products are in magazines like that? Well that’s true, it’s quite common that or products are in magazines. But this brand is a very special one: Thirtyfour is a very small company coming form Malaysia and it’s not that common that they are in a German magazine. I am happy for Thirtyfour has managed to be in this magazine and I am happy that I am the only one selling these products in Europe. Yeah! And Thales is even my personal favourite bracelet!

On Saturday we celebrated our tiny little shop’s first birthday. It was a great party! Thank you to all the guests, clients and friends for coming by and celebrating with us! And a special thank you to our neighbours Sabine and Janet from Pomeranza Design Ranch who gave a fantastic birthday cake to us!

…is finally here – our one-year anniversary! On April 4th 2010, the doors to the Beuteltiere-Shop in Berlin finally opened, and this past year has been great! We’ve gotten to know some wonderful people; customers, designers, fellow-bag-enthusiasts, supporters, andandand… We’ve accomplished a lot, especially creating our online shop, and establishing ourselves as a company. We couldn’t have done it without you!
So – we have a lot to celebrate! If you’re in the neighborhood of Raumerstraße 19 in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, you should stop by for a nice, refreshing and bubbly drink! We can offer you Seltzers or Sekt, whatever you’re in the mood for, and something to nibble on – between 4-8 p.m.! We would love it if you’d make it!

… because I can’t find the time to write nice blog posts every day in the moment. I always hear Holly Beckers voice in my ear: “Consistency!” One and a half-year ago Katrin and I attended a lecture organized by Dawanda where Holly Becker from the famous blog Decor8 told bloggers or to-be bloggers (like us in that moment) that consistency is VERY important when you have a blog. When you say you write daily or every Monday that you stick to your schedule and really write daily or eg. every Monday. Every blog reader wants readers to come by regularly and so you shouldn’t disappoint them by not sticking to your schedule. If readers come by and don’t find something new on the blog, they might never come back.
What is your opinion about that? Do you miss Beuteltieres daily posts? Did you notice actually that there at not that many posts in the moment?

I am sorry for my absence the last days. I was really stressed by bookkeeping and tons of new bags arriving here end of last week. The fiscal authorities breathing down my neck, because I was already 2 days late with the sales tax report and two huge boxes of bags from Property of… in the shop that I couldn’t unpack because of the book-keeping… A big thank you to Nadja, Katrin’s sister, who came by to unpack the bags on Thursday evening.Today I finally managed to put price tags on the bags and place some of them in the shop.
I don’t know exactly how many hours I worked last week, but I think it must have been about 60 hours. I was really exhausted on Saturday evening and couldn’t wait so spend a relaxed evening in bed with my book and sleep long on Sunday. Thank god Anna is recovered and will replace me in the shop tomorrow morning. I really need to buy food! I even don’t have any pasta at home.

Beginning of this week our webshop technician told me: “Barbara, it’s time to work on the meta information of the products. Fill in meta title, meta dscription and meta tag.” Well. this sounds like an easy job. In fact it is an easy but boring job that I started today. Arriving at bags which names start with D in the women -> handbag category I still have a lot left after 3 hours of work. I fear that this super-job will accompany my next weeks.
I already start to get depressive about that and need a break from this boring job! I must think about giving a part of this work to Anna next week. Poor Anna.
The weather changed the last days: no more snow, warmer even sunshine and more and more puddles on the street, because of the melting snow. That made me thinking about Spring and redecorating our winter sales area. I threw all the winter stuff out and decorated the new FredsBruder bags and the new beautiful dutch scarves from Jago. Have you noticed the one with the birds called Boxer? Isn’t it cute?
Ahh…now the shop looks much better: bright colours, more fresh. I really couldn’t stand all this winter stuff any more.
