The short version:
We (Barbara Müller and Katrin Hufer) - friends since first semester design-studies – just realized a nice shop in Berlin/Prenzlauerberg Raumerstraße 19 called Beuteltiere, where we sell beautiful, practical and lovable bags & accessories.
The long version:
Due to really hard working time (especially 1.&2. semester) during Industrial Design Studies in Darmstadt everyone needed a truly good friend. Someone who still likes you when you have shadows around your eyes big like lakes… and your conversation shrinks to simple expressions like: Hmmm? Pfffff…
So no wonder that the two Bavarian strangers immediately stick together like glue. Well, actually it was one “real”, means born, Bavarian: Barbara Mueller and one Bavarian in heart: Katrin Lendlein who founded their friendship year 2000 in Darmstadt.
After the diploma in 2005 Barbara had to leave Darmstadt to move to Aachen, where she took her first job as an industrial designer. SNIFF! Poor Katrin had to stay, working in Frankfurt, not far away from DA. Lucky having all the other student friends around.
But the distance between their domiciles didn’t stop the permanent exchange of millions of creative ideas. Any time the girls could manage, they met. In this time the first design for a handbag was designed, created and sewed.
Katrin’s move to Berlin gave birth to the vision of having a shop together, where the two of them could sell products they love, design and create.
The adventure of the BEUTELTIERE (lat. marsupialia) starting their business, exploring Berlin and discovering Blog- and Web-World you can follow here.
