Made at Least Some Progress…

September 30, 2009

… wanted them to be finished end of last week, when I started them. But… well I don’t really have an excuse. But one done is better than nothing, right?

Next one is casted on and the fall came to berlin. So good chances to knit while watching a good movie. Any suggestions? Well I know It’s more film-listening than watching while knitting something . But as I am a scaredy cat that’s not the worse opportunity to see a thriller without being frightened to death ;) .

Tough day at the fair

September 29, 2009

I had a tough day yesterday:  I made a short-trip to the international fair for leather goods in Offenbach near Frankfurt am Main. I went there by train on Sunday afternoon, vistited the fair yesterday and took the train back to Berlin (uff, about 5 hours) . Why I do these kinds of horrible trips and go back on Monday evening already. Well … because of the Oktoberfest coming nearer and nearer, we have quite a lot of work to do as you can imagine.

But now, let’s talk about the fair experience. I saw lots of nice Spring/Summer things. Hmm… and I spent some money on bags of course. See here some produts news and new xolours of a traditional German manufacturer called Augenthaler und Heberer.  They are so traditional that they even don’t have a website. To see their new stuff it’s really necessary to visit the fair.

Monday Morning!

September 28, 2009

And sooo much to do till sunday. Todays task: Print, cut, sign and roll at least 150 lots for our big raffle at O’zapft is… . Well better keep going, because there is still the juwellery tree to saw, the salt dough to make for the children play corner.

Not to forget all the fall and winter products which arrive daily now and want to be added to our stock system and to be signed with their prizes… . So I’m off for today bussy days ahead :) Ahhhhh, nearly dropped that there is a shop opening from one of our friends, a great goldsmith working with fair gold and making great stuff: frau dietel. Anybody around next weekend? Then join us!

Exploring Singapore

September 21, 2009

Last week I spent in Singapore for holiday (poor Katrin had to stay in the shop alone) and I combined this fun trip with a visit at Property of… to place an order for Spring/Summer 2010. It was great to see their offices and showroom and to get to know the really fantastic Property of people. I found out that they made clothes before they started the Property of bag business in Europe, USA and Japan. Besides the bag business they have their own shop called ‘Project Shop’ in Singapore combined with a café. And they have two restaurants in Singapore calles PS Café as well. And the best thing is: we were invited to drink a bottle of champagne in one of their restaurants. We spent a very nice evening on the terrace of PS Café in Harding road with a nice view on tropical forest looking trees: nice ambiance, nice food and a bottle of delicious champagne. Thanks Peter!

New Knitting Project – Wristwarmers

September 18, 2009

Now that the fall really started here in Berlin I’m again (as every year) up to cosy items which warm the first colder days.  And than suddenly; I swear I couldn´t do anything against it: There was this lonely little rest of yarn in my craft-pouch staring at me.

It seemed to blame me for his unshaped, not transformed existence. Well, which chance did I have? Resist a soft Merino-Silk-Mix? No way. So here I am knitting a simple rib pattern in round to form a nice pair of wrist warmers for fall.

Maybe I have some other colour  anywhere to make another pair for the shop… Is there anybody in my pouch, please sign in the list to be the next to change appearance…

I Love… Passionate Stories on Thursday

September 17, 2009

I have to confess: I admire PIGS. They are named Fred Ferkel, they taste fantastic and I can’t resist to get at least one nearly every day… Lucky as I am, our neighbors at pomeranza design ranch have a heart for obsessioned people like me!

But who on earth could resist does sweet roly-polies?

And the ears! They darker ones are the best: raspberries. Yummy. And as I heard from an insider, addicted as well, there has to be another delicious critters calling themselves Oink&Co. … Sounds fantastic! Maybe they find a new home at my neighbours as well. I will definitely give them a try!

O’zapft is – Flyer

September 16, 2009

After finishing the poster for our October party there was only the flyer missing we can give to our costumers directly. We chose a postcard size, which ment that I had to reorganize the content a little to make sure it’s still readable. Here it comes:

Hope to see you all there!

Xinnovation – I did it!

September 15, 2009

What an exciting day for me! Beuteltiere had the chance to present our business and blog to the auditory from Xinnovations 2009. We were part of their series E-Marketing to represent the real-life-example and how we deal with online-tools like blogging. I tried to show the people how easy and satisfying it is to let the world know about your makings. Pointed out the different tools you need and can use. And what reactions of the addressed communities out there may come. The atmosphere was really great, warm, nearly familiar and I hope a few of them can take some tips at home.

I made the presentation with a new presentation tool online called prezi.com. See the Beuteltiere presentation here. Or download the pdf-Handout here. Beside me Two very interesting businesses presented theirselves as well: earthtv.com and kadó. First is a company with long tv-experience which now situated 70 cameras all over the world to have great views on what’s going on abroad and in special cities. The internet user can follow live in definitely fantastic quality. To give the site even more rate of return and hits Marc Buntebarth from earthtv and Martina Müller from pr-ide Berlin described which tools and advertizing possibilities were  invented. After my presentation Frank Büttner from Kadó-Lakritz made the case that you won´t need a broad E-marketing system to be successful. He let’s say was the little revolutionizer in our round. But what he answers for are points which are essential for every business, e-marketing or not: A clear, realized in all instances, good and reasonable Cooperate Identity in combination with a deep passion for the needs of your costumer.

I will visit his wife and him very soon, because I’m very curious how his shop looks like and how delicious his licorice is. Thank all the nice people taking part at this seminars, was great to be there among you!
