Countdown

September 30, 2008

Since yesterday it is official, written on paper and signed… I will quit my job end of October! I am really looking forward to it. I imagine myself as a bird having been locked in a cage for about 2 1/2 years that practices its flying skills for some weeks now and will be able take off  in some days.

I am really looking forward to pack up all my things in boxes, go to Berlin and start new adventures. I know that starting our new business will be a lot of work and it will be sometimes hard, but I am so curious to finally start it. And be sure that I you will hear more from me here on marsupialia, when I will have quit my job!

Collecting To-be products

I researched for some products in DaWanda because we want to present some unique, handmade, exclusive, extraordinary bags and accessories in our little to-be shop. A few cuties here (click on the pics and you get to the DaWanda shop):

Help wanted!

September 30, 2008

I had the first look over our portraits and I´m completly lost. Which is the best for our further business comunication, representation etc. ? Should we take a black and white one to look more serious? Or better a coloured one, because we enjoy our work of course? Should we smile more or less? Questions, questions a million….Give me a hand and tell me, what you think is the best and why! I appreciate your comments very much. You can get the rest of the pics here. Thanks a lot for helping me out this trouble! :)

Crazy, sexy, cool weekend

September 29, 2008

Wow, what a weekend! Where to start describing all the good things happened to us these 3 days… At the beginning of course Katrin!!!

All right, here we go:

After stepping by at my parents, Barbara and me met in Mainz with the bombastic, fantastic Maria Oestringer to get our business photo done. She is a warm, calm and cheering up person, who had a professional eye on outfit, look and focusing  the expression of our different personalities. We felt immediately welcome and had a lot of fun doing the shots, as you can see here. Maria made our dream of a photo come true, which is serious looking on one hand and relaxed and happy appearing as we both are. Thank you for that Miss Oe.!

Saturday we went off to Offenbach (ILM-fair) to get information on our to-be-sellers. As you can see, we found a lot of possible-cooperators…

Only a few examples:

Abro

augenthaler&heberer (sorry, no website)

braun bueffel

Aunts&uncles

As I dealt out my new business cards the response on our shop name “BEUTELTIERE” was 100% positive, which gave us a really good support for the future!

In the evening unveiling the surprise for Miss N* came closer! We met our friend Nadja in our former study-city Darmstadt. You can watch her unwrapping the presents here. For me it looked like she definitely loved her presents and for us it was the greatest fun, seeing her teint turning from white to red and white again ;) With the new belt she´s gonna be the star of every coming party I bet. If she is combination it with a precious piece of her selfmade jewelery especially.

To summarize this weekend: It was crazy what happened to our emotions, doing the first business portrait of us. We felt sexy and cool. The crazy amount of beautiful bags and accessories appeared absolutely sexy to us. But we stay cool and choose only the best ;) And Miss N* got crazy about our present, will look sexy on the following parties and will stay cool getting all the compliments of the boys attracted by her :)

Who I admire

September 26, 2008

What Holly from decor8 wrote about Melissa Loves earlier this week made me showing you the work of a very special person: my mom. She is a very talented pottery artist and shows her work in her little shop and in addition every two years she is doing an exhibition in our garden.

Without her I would not be as creative, as I am now. She told me from young age on till now, that doing something with your hands is valuable and makes the world a little bit nicer then before making it.

Thanks for that mom!

Some of her works you can see here.

Last preparations

September 25, 2008

Today I’m leaving Berlin to check out the Lederwarenmesse in Offenbach together with Barbara. I’m really excited about all the nice handbags and accessories which are waiting to be discovered. In addition to the fair we will get our photo for the business shot by Maria, a very talented, young photographer!!! And when we come back from our trip on sunday, you can see all the details on line.

Not to forget the surprise, surprise present for Miss N* (you can glimpse a detail on the left)… See you latest on monday, hopefully we can manage to post something in between too, Kisses till then!

Making the stationary

September 24, 2008

We wrote about making the stationary for our business before (photos will follow). I´m still sitting over a good grid system and where to put all the business information like banking-data etc. Not to easy… to cheer me up I needed a little companion. Unfortunately Barbara is in Aachen again… so I sketched me one.

Still in progress of course, but nice. The left is me “Miss molly”-Marsupialia and the right Grace is Barbara “Lady Longlulatsch” :) What do you think?

Maybe the two of them want to be partner of the Logo which waits for its development?

Marsu Katrin Proudly Presents

September 23, 2008

The mittens are done!

The material is really fantastic! The lady at lalaine was right: I knitted with the smallest needle size (3.5) for this work and the mittens are still big and comfortable enough. The silk in the yarn makes the mittens nearly melt with your skin, soooo soft!

Hope Miss N* will like them! I will let you know.

lovely bags and home fabrics

September 22, 2008

Surfing around on Hollys blog decor8 about her trip to Amsterdam I got stuck on some lovely bags in a shop and made some research. They are made by a french company called Robert le Héros. As well as bags they produce lovely home fabrics. See their catalogue.

What do you thinkabout these bags? Do you like them? Do you think they could be the right products for our future shop? Keen to hear your opinion.
